After a though fight, party decided to rest before continuing further into the caves. While everybody is asleep, Kriv waked up in some strange place. Surrounded with fog and white smoke, he was attacked by a monster he never heard of, not even in stories. Ugly, deformed beast, with scissor like claws appeared from fog and teared him with its claws. As soon he was stuck, he awakened back in the cave. He immediately waked up the party to told them about the monster. As he spoke about the monster’s strike, he spotted blood dripping from inside his armor; his wound was real.
Although confused with attack in a dream, they couldn’t do much about it so they continued. Through a narrow corridor, from where the blazing skeleton came, they passed through into another cave, probably the one they saw from outside, blocked by a huge stone. In the middle of the cave was a small lake.
Elsing noticed something sparkling on the bottom and recognized a silver ring entangled in grass on the bottom. Irgon tried to pick it up. When he reached it, he noticed that the ring is still on a hand. In the blink of an eye, something caught it’s arm.
First he thought the arm caught him but actually it was one of the roots from the bottom. What they thought were only a plant, was now holding Irgon’s hand and was pulling him into the water. Although strong, Irgon barely resisted to be pulled underwater. Kriv jumped in and started to cut the tentacles of the roots but when Irgon nearly escaped from the roots grasp, another root caught Kriv. Elsing fired salvos of arrows in the roots and Vani dealt a few vicious cuts so Kriv managed to free himself. They barely saved Irgon from drowning and finally routed the roots out.
Finally, Irgon took the ring and also spotted a helmet, entangled in water grass. He threw the helmet out of the water and some gold felt out of it. Vani was quick and collected the gold immediately but others forced her to divide it. She gave them the gold but Elsing caught a glimpse of some irregular silver coin she was trying to hide from them.
Helmet had horns on top and Irgon took it to use it to enhance his bull rush tactics. The ring had LF initials engraved so Kalista figured it could be from Leno de Franko so at least they knew now they are on the right track.
They’ve found another passage and they went into it and continued down the stairs into a dark hall. Somebody lit a torch and Kalista recognized they are in a temple of some evil god. They slowly explored the room and discovered a sarcophagus. Combining their strengths, they managed to open it and found a body without a hand, a sword with LF engraved and a good looking shield. They took the equipment and closed the sarcophagus, certain that they’ve found Leno de Franko.
Behind the sarcophagus, Elsing spotted irregularities on the wall. Sure enough, he found a secret passage. They opened it and proceeded into the passage. They’ve slowly climbed until they saw a natural light. Vani squeezed into the hole through which they saw the light and discovered that this is the way out of the cave. Unfortunately, group of goblins gathered nearby and they could spot the party on they way out. Party decided to try to sneak out using high grass for cover. As they crawled through grass, Kriv suddenly clanged his armor and sword and goblin discovered them. They could only run now.
Under the fire of throwed spears they managed to hide in the forest and to proceed to the city.
